القمر يأخذ إجازة – حكاية قبل النوم
منذ آلاف السنين والقمر يضيء الأرض كل ليلة. وفي إحدى الليالي تنهّد وقال: «أنا متعب جدًا. ليتني آخذ إجازة، ولو ليلة واحدة».
اجتمعت النجوم وقالت: «استرح أيها القمر العزيز، سنعتني نحن بالسماء!» ففرح القمر واختبأ خلف سحابة كبيرة لينام.
أضاءت النجوم بكل قوتها، ورسمت في السماء دبًّا ومغرفة وصيّادًا. والأطفال عند النوافذ لم يروا سماء بهذا الجمال من قبل.
في اليوم التالي عاد القمر مستديرًا ومرتاحًا، وشكر النجوم. ومنذ ذلك الحين يأخذ القمر استراحة قصيرة مرة كل شهر، وهي ما نسمّيه المحاق.

English Summary
After thousands of years of lighting the night, the tired Moon wishes for a night off. The stars offer to cover the sky and shine so brightly that children see the constellations like never before. Now the Moon rests once a month — the new moon.
