ছোট্ট হাতির সাহস – সাহসের গল্প
বনে গোলু নামে এক ছোট্ট হাতি থাকত। অন্য পশুরা তাকে খেপাত, “তোর কান কত বড়, আর তুই কত আস্তে হাঁটিস!” গোলুর মন খারাপ হত।
একদিন খুব জোরে বৃষ্টি হল আর নদীতে বন্যা এল। বাঁদর, খরগোশ আর হরিণের ছানারা নদীর মাঝে একটা ছোট্ট চরে আটকে পড়ল। সবাই ভয় পেয়ে গেল।
কেউ জলে নামার সাহস পাচ্ছিল না। তখন গোলু এগিয়ে এল। সে শুঁড় উঁচু করে ধীরে ধীরে স্রোতের মধ্যে হাঁটতে লাগল।
একে একে সে সব ছানাকে পিঠে চাপিয়ে পাড়ে পৌঁছে দিল। পশুরা লজ্জা পেয়ে গোলুকে ধন্যবাদ দিল। সেদিন থেকে কেউ আর তাকে খেপায়নি।
নীতিকথা (Moral of the Story)
রূপ দিয়ে নয়, কাজ দিয়েই মানুষ চেনা যায়।
English Summary
Golu the little elephant is teased for his big ears and slow walk. When a flood traps baby monkeys, rabbits and deer on a small sandbank, only Golu dares to wade through the current and carries them all to safety. No one teases him again.
