The Clever Jackal and the Wicked Lion

Once upon a time, in a dense jungle, there lived a cruel and greedy lion named Simha. He ruled over the animals with fear, hunting not just for food but for pleasure. The animals were terrified and wished to be free from his tyranny.

One day, a clever jackal named Juno came up with a plan to get rid of the lion. He gathered all the animals and said, “Instead of living in fear, let’s trick the lion and make him fall into his own trap.” The animals agreed and listened carefully to the jackal’s plan.

The next morning, the jackal went to the lion’s den and bowed respectfully. “Oh mighty Simha,” he said, “we know you are the strongest and bravest of all. But deep in the jungle, there is another lion who claims to be more powerful than you!”

The lion roared in anger. “What? Another lion? How dare he challenge me! Where is he?”

The jackal led the lion to an old, deep well and pointed inside. “Look down, O King, and you shall see your enemy,” he said.

The foolish lion peered inside and saw his own reflection in the water. Thinking it was another lion, he roared loudly. The reflection roared back at him. Furious, Simha jumped into the well to fight his “enemy” but found nothing except cold water. He struggled for a while and then drowned.

The jackal ran back to the other animals and announced, “The wicked lion is no more! We are free at last!” The jungle burst into celebrations, and the clever jackal became a hero.
